About the Role

As a Logistics Management Specialist at the US Army Security Assistance Command, you will serve as a critical link between the US Army and its international partner nations. USASAC manages Foreign Military Sales (FMS) — the US government program through which allied and friendly nations purchase American defense equipment, services, and training.

In this role you will plan, coordinate, and evaluate logistics operations supporting specific FMS cases, weapons systems, and defense programs assigned to your portfolio. You will work directly with foreign military officials, embassy representatives, and senior Army leadership — making this a high-visibility, high-impact civilian career in national defense.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct, develop, and perform logistics management operations supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases and designated defense programs
  • Oversee logistics and supply program management support to FMS customers ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met
  • Apply FMS regulations to case management, from initial Letter of Request through case closure
  • Analyze the effectiveness of active FMS cases and resolve complex logistical and financial issues
  • Extract and analyze data from supply source databases to resolve problems and track program status
  • Review Letters of Request from foreign nations for completeness in support of country requirements
  • Prepare and deliver briefings to higher headquarters, senior Army officials, and foreign government dignitaries on case management actions and program development
  • Provide FMS logistical training to foreign customers and Security Assistance Officers
  • Schedule and monitor funding milestones — including adequacy and timeliness of obligations
  • Monitor both organizational and contractor compliance with milestone and performance criteria
  • Collaborate with interagency partners including the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), DoS, and DoD components
